This topic gives you advance notice of new features we'll be adding to the next release of Brightcove. Please be aware that our plans can change and there is no guarantee that any particular feature will be available in any specific release.
The next release of Brightcove is currently scheduled for December 10, 2009. We anticipate that it will include the following new features:
We are releasing a Brightcove iPhone SDK that you'll be able to use to create a native iPhone application to put your video content and brand close to your audience, wherever they go. Access your video content and metadata easily using the SDK. The SDK will be released shortly; in the meantime, take a look at some preview documentation.
Publisher trafficking ads that are delivered in the VAST ad specification will be able to easily deliver part of the ad response (companion) on the web page, outside the Brightcove player. This will require some custom development on the page to handle the display of the external ad.
We are adding a spiffy new standard player template with fading player controls. This new player template will be available to all publishers and will support ads.
You will be able to enable a new Sharing menu within the video player that includes options to post directly to Twitter and Facebook.
