You have the option to identify a custom domain name at the account level for use in your players. That custom domain name replaces link.brightcove.com in the RSS feeds for your players as well as in the links to your players (for example, when a viewer clicks "get link" in your player).
You have the option to identify a custom domain name at the account level for use in your players. That custom domain name replaces link.brightcove.com in the RSS feeds for your players as well as in the links to your players (for example, when a viewer clicks "get link" in your player).
You must complete the two steps below to set up your Video Cloud account to use a custom domain name.
You need to identify an otherwise unused domain or subdomain name to use for your Video Cloud RSS feeds and video links. You cannot use your usual website domain, as this would make your website inaccessible. For example, if your website is at www.example.com, you might want to use video.example.com.
You need to configure a CNAME (Canonical Name) with the DNS (Domain Name System) to associate your domain with link.brightcove.com. A CNAME is an alias, so when a URL with your custom link domain (such as video.example.com) is retrieved by your browser, the response actually comes from link.brightcove.com.
Contact your network administrator or web hosting provider for help with this step. Remember that it can take up to 48 hours for DNS changes to take effect.
After you have set up your CNAME, configure the custom domain name for your players on the Account Settings page of the Video Cloud Studio:
