Media Sharing in the Media Module

Media sharing is a feature of Brightcove that lets publishers share videos with other publishers, enabling you to more easily manage videos across multiple accounts. This topic describes how to share videos using the Media module. For introductory information, read Media Sharing.

You can use the Media module to share one video at a time to other accounts with which you have already established a sharing relationship. Note that:

• An account that receives a video by sharing cannot pass that same video on to another account by sharing. Only the original account can share the video.
• If you are using Brightcove to transcode your videos, do not attempt to share videos until the transcoding process is complete (which could take several hours). If you share videos before transcoding is complete, your affiliates will receive videos that are incomplete and which may consist solely of metadata with no video files.

To share a video:

1. Select a single video in the Media module.
2. Click the Share button in the toolbar at the bottom of the Media module. Note that the Share button is not displayed unless you have already established at least one sharing relationship between your Brightcove account and another account.
   
3.  Select the affiliates that you want to share the video to and click Share Video.
   
   If you have already shared the video with all available affilliates, the Share Video dialog reports that the video has already been shared to all of your affilates and cannot be re-shared.
