The Brightcove Studio Publishing module is a flexible, fast tool for creating, customizing, managing, and publishing rich media experiences with a simple and intuitive user interface. Using the Publishing module, you can:
- Create a player, implemented in ActionScript 3 and using Flash Player 9, from standard player templates.
- Customize the player's visual components and UI controls to create your own unique player design with the colors, themes, and branding you choose.
- Set policies at the player level, including hosting options, viral promotion tools, geographic filtering, bumpers, and more.
Launching the Publishing module
To launch the Publishing module:
- Log into the Brightcove Studio at https://my.brightcove.com.
- Open the Publishing module by clicking the Publishing icon in the navigation header:

The Publishing module opens and displays the players that are currently available in your account.
Elements of the Publishing module

Navigation pane
The navigation pane lets you switch between the All Players and All Templates views. When you click All Players, the data grid displays all the players defined in your Brightcove account. When you click All Templates, the data grid displays all the player templates defined in your Brightcove account.
At the foot of the navigation pane are buttons you click to create new players and templates:

- Click New Player to create a new player from an existing player template. Opens the Create New Player dialog, where you specify the player name and select the player template.
- Click New Template to add a new player template to your account. Opens the Create New Template dialog, where you can add a custom player template that you have created using BEML. Note: Custom player templates are not available for Brightcove Express customers.
Data grid
The data grid displays all the players or all the player templates defined in your Brightcove account.
Note: Players you created in the Brightcove Console (version 2.0 players) will not appear in the Publishing module. Likewise, players you create in the Publishing module appear only in the Publishing module, and will not show up in the Brightcove Console.
Search field
You can use the search field to find players and templates. You can search by player name, player ID, or template name.
Action Toolbar
The action toolbar provides a set of buttons for taking actions on your players:

- Settings - Edit settings for the selected player, including name, access or API restrictions, hosting options, geo-filtering, search options, description, and video promotion tools.
- Styles - Set colors and themes for the selected player's components. For players with image components, you can set image properties, such as display image or URLs.
- Duplicate, Activate, Deactivate, or Delete the selected player.
- Preview the selected player.
- Get Code - Get publishing code for the selected player. The publishing code is a small code snippet that Brightcove creates. You can copy and paste the publishing code into a web page to publish your player on the web. Use your choice of JavaScript, ActionScript, HTML to embed, or HTML link.
In the All Templates view, the action toolbar provides buttons for taking actions on your player templates:
