A player is a group of components that you use to present media to your audience on the web. A video player includes a video display panel, and can also include components like lists, labels, tab bars, and more. Using the Brightcove Studio's Publishing module, you can create a player using one of a set of pre-defined templates. Brightcove Pro and Enterprise customers can also create custom player templates and add them to their accounts.
To create a new player in the Publishing module:
![]()

You can make a copy of a player. This lets you make changes to a player without affecting existing players that may have already been published. To duplicate a player in the Publishing module:
When you duplicating a player, you duplicate only its settings and style, not its content. The new player will not yet have any content assigned to it.
The default state for a new player is Active. A green checkmark in the datagrid indicates a player is active. You can deactivate or delete any player in your account. Be careful, though: deleting cannot be undone. You can also preview a player at any time by clicking the Preview button in the action toolbar.
